Magic Kingdom Ran Two Levels Hot on Wednesday While Hollywood Studios Cooled Off

In a resort where the other three gates all ran light or normal, Magic Kingdom was the one park where the standby line actually mattered, peaking at a 25-minute median around 11:00 AM as the morning rope-drop wave stacked up in Fantasyland. Nothing exotic caused it — peak summer family travel, a full slate of operating attractions, and a park that guests keep gravitating toward.

The weather cooperated all day: mostly clear skies, a high near 96°F, and just a trace of rain. Hot, yes, but dry — which kept crowds outdoors and moving rather than bottled up indoors.

Hollywood Studios is the flip side of the story. It posted a 28.9-minute median, nearly 28% below its 40-minute monthly average, landing at a 3/10 — three levels under its own usual 6/10. For a summer weekday, that’s genuinely soft touring. Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run sat around 20 minutes against a typical 35, and even Alien Swirling Saucers ran lighter than normal. Meanwhile the people-eaters ran efficient — the PeopleMover, Tomorrowland Speedway, and Dumbo all sat below their norms, so the higher-capacity attractions absorbed demand while the slow-loading boats backed up.

EPCOT stayed quiet at a 17-minute median, a 2/10 on the day, with an odd 8:00 AM peak of 30 minutes — that’s early-entry guests hammering the headliners before the park settled into a mellow rhythm. The Seas with Nemo & Friends doubled to 10 minutes, but that’s a rounding blip more than a crowd signal. Hollywood Studios had the messiest maintenance day. Slinky Dog Dash went down twice, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster twice, Rise of the Resistance twice — and Rise’s late-evening closure at 11:06 PM never reopened before close. None of it dented the park’s overall waits much, precisely because crowds were so thin there was capacity to absorb the losses. Magic Kingdom’s evening was choppier, with Space Mountain, Big Thunder, and Tiana’s all taking hour-ish hits after 6:00 PM.

It’s building on yesterday’s momentum plus a healthy count of operating attractions. Hollywood Studios comes in at 5/10 (about 37 minutes), a notable bounce back from yesterday’s soft 3 — and honestly, yesterday’s model overshot Studios by three levels, so we’re watching that one closely rather than assuming today’s number is gospel. EPCOT sits at 4/10 (around 27 minutes) and Animal Kingdom is your best bet at 3/10 (about 22 minutes).
