Walt Disney World just made summer vacation significantly cheaper for families willing to do a little homework.

Disney's $99 Rooms Return as Summer Savings Stack Up Big

Summer Savings That Actually Add Up

Disney has a pricing reputation, and it is mostly earned. But this summer, the company is running an unusually deep set of overlapping promotions at Walt Disney World that, when stacked correctly, could represent the best value the resort has offered in years. Disney Experiences confirmed the full slate in a detailed breakdown this week, and the numbers deserve a close read.

The headline deal: Disney+ subscribers enrolled in the Disney+ Perks program can book select Disney Resorts Collection hotels starting at $99 per night at Disney's All-Star Sports Resort. Separately, Disney Experiences notes that guests can save up to 30% on select Disney Resort hotels for stays most nights May 1 through October 4, 2026.

But the real story is what happens when you layer these deals. The 4-Day, 4-Park Magic Ticket starts at $109 per day (total starting at $436 plus tax) for visits between May 26 and October 3. Disney Experiences also highlights the After 2 P.M. Ticket, which starts at $235 plus tax for a two-day ticket and $329 plus tax for three days, designed for families who want to skip the morning rush and take advantage of longer summer park hours. Florida residents get their own deal: a two-day ticket for $219 plus tax, three days for $239 plus tax, or four days for $259 plus tax.

And then there is the free water park day. According to Disney Experiences, guests staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel between May 26 and September 8 can enjoy free admission to either Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach on their check-in day. Both water parks will be open during that window.

None of these promotions are individually unprecedented. But the sheer number of them running simultaneously, and the way they are designed to stack, suggests Disney is making an aggressive play for summer families who might otherwise sit this year out. A subscriber who books the $99 room, buys the 4-Park Magic Ticket, and takes the free water park day is getting a Walt Disney World vacation at a price point that would have seemed implausible two years ago.

The Parks

The biggest news on the ground this week came from Disney Parks Blog, which confirmed that three recently updated attractions have been added to the After Hours event lineup at Walt Disney World. Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin all join the late-night roster, giving guests attending those separately ticketed events more reasons to stay past midnight.

The timing matters. As Disney Parks Blog details, After Hours events at Magic Kingdom run from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m., with early entry starting at 7 p.m. The events include complimentary snacks and select bottled beverages. Magic Kingdom hosts events through July 27, Disney's Hollywood Studios through September 12, and EPCOT through September 24.

Meanwhile, Wednesday's crowd picture at Walt Disney World told a vivid story of summer demand arriving in force. Lightning Brain's daily park report pegged Magic Kingdom at an 8/10 (Very Heavy), with a median wait of 21.5 minutes, some 43% above its 30-day baseline. The ongoing MagiCup 2026 soccer tournament is drawing thousands of athlete families to the resort, and the extra bodies showed up in every queue. Disney's Hollywood Studios ran at a 7/10 (Heavy). Conditions were warm, cloudy, and just humid enough to make air-conditioned queues feel like destinations in themselves.

Operational headaches compounded the crowd pressure at Magic Kingdom. Haunted Mansion was offline for over six hours, from 9:15 a.m. until nearly 4 p.m. Space Mountain went down from 8:35 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. With two anchor attractions simultaneously unavailable for much of the morning, secondary attractions absorbed the overflow. Tiana's Bayou Adventure added a 99-minute afternoon closure, and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh cycled through four separate brief outages totaling nearly two hours of intermittent downtime.

Over at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa, the Treehouse Villas refurbishment continues, and WDWNT reports that the updated units feature themed decor inspired by Mulan, The Princess and the Frog, The Rescuers, Cinderella, Tangled, The Fox and the Hound, and Sleeping Beauty. This is a carefully curated list that leans into films with strong nature and woodland imagery that fits the Treehouse Villas setting.

BlogMickey dropped important clarification this week on the upcoming Disney Lakeshore Lodge. The earlier understanding was that Disney Vacation Club would own roughly 90% of the resort's rooms, based on a Florida state filing. The updated reporting paints a different picture: Lakeshore Lodge will be 100% DVC-owned. But, as BlogMickey explains, non-members will still be able to book cash reservations. The mechanics hinge on how DVC sells inventory in phases. Until units are sold through DVC, they remain available for cash bookings. Disney has previously announced that room types will range from cozy studios to spacious suites, and some multi-bedroom configurations may explain the numerical discrepancy between the 967 total rooms previously announced and the 876 timeshare weeks in the filing.

EPCOT saw a quiet visual change this week. WDWNT notes that Citrus Blossom decals have been removed from the Odyssey Pavilion. And at Disney's Hollywood Studios, entrance columns are now rising in the Monstropolis construction zone, another visible step forward for that project.

On the West Coast, MickeyBlog highlights a new treat at Disneyland Resort worth the trip to Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar. The DOLE Whip Pineapple-Orange with Guava Juice, priced at $10.75, celebrates Trader Sam's 15th anniversary and comes served in a commemorative cup featuring the location's logo and tiki icons. The bar is also running a Mixology Seminar and offering a limited-edition tiki mug as part of the celebration.

Looking ahead to fall on the West Coast, The DisInsider reports that Disneyland Resort has revealed details for its Halloween season, including the return of Halloween Time and Plaza de la Familia. According to reports, the seasonal offerings will bring back fan-favorite entertainment, overlays, festive decor, and specialty treats.

At sea, Disney Cruise Line rolled out a coordinated batch of policy updates effective June 3. Touring Plans independently confirmed that DCL changed five policies in recent days, covering stateroom door decorations, the guest carry-on alcoholic beverage allowance, corkage fees, and selfie stick guidelines. Lightning Brain's cruise coverage notes that these simultaneous changes suggest the line is recalibrating onboard expectations as the fleet expands and new ships bring new guest demographics aboard. If you are sailing on or after June 3, reviewing the updated policies before packing is worth the five minutes.

For guests thinking further ahead about Disney Springs accommodations, WDWN Prep School published a comprehensive guide to the Disney Springs Resort Area hotels, noting that many of the hotel representatives are former Cast Members who understand exactly what guests need. These properties offer some Disney resort perks at lower price points, a useful option for budget-conscious families.

The Screen

Disney and Pixar's Hoppers is now streaming on Disney+. D23 confirmed the film's arrival, noting that the animated feature follows animal lover Mabel (voiced by Piper Curda) as she uses new technology to "hop" her consciousness into a lifelike robotic beaver and communicate with animals. Bobby Moynihan, Jon Hamm, Kathy Najimy, Dave Franco, and Meryl Streep round out the voice cast. Disney+ users can now choose from three Hoppers-themed avatars: Mabel, King George, and fan-favorite Tom Lizzard.

The Simpsons, meanwhile, is pushing into new territory with Disney+ exclusive episodes. D23 reports that three all-new episodes will stream globally this summer: the double-episode "Extreme Makeover: Homer Edition" on June 17 (featuring guest star Betty Gilpin and musical guests Laufey and Tegan and Sara), "Simpsley" on July 3 (a Simpsons noir set in Italy), and "Yellow Mirror" on August 26 (a dark anthology featuring AI and a defective lamp). These follow the series' recent 800th episode milestone, and the fact that they are streaming exclusives rather than broadcast episodes signals Disney's continued investment in making Disney+ the primary home for the franchise.

Toy Story 5 continues its marketing drumbeat. WDWNT reports that Pixar posted another teaser hinting at a forthcoming Taylor Swift announcement related to the film. ESPN has also folded Toy Story 5 into its ongoing "We're Going" campaign ahead of Super Bowl LXI, and WDWNT notes that Disney is selling Super Bowl ad spots at $8 million apiece. D23 Gold Members, meanwhile, can see Toy Story 5 two days early at limited screenings in Florida and California.

Atlantis: The Lost Empire turns 25 this year, and Disney is marking the anniversary with a glow-in-the-dark Spirit Jersey now available at Disney Store. Disney Food Blog spotlighted the jersey, which features a mineral wash design with golden puffy ink logos and artwork of Milo Thatch and the expedition crew on the back. Atlantis has always occupied a peculiar corner of the Disney canon as a big-budget animated adventure that underperformed at the box office but built a devoted following in the years since. A Spirit Jersey release is a small gesture, but it signals that Disney knows exactly who still cares about this film and is willing to make product for them.

Speaking of deep cuts from the Disney catalog, WDWNT highlighted that the original Devil Wears Prada made Nielsen's top three during the premiere of its sequel. Some stories sell themselves, and a 20-year-old movie climbing the charts because its sequel just dropped is one of them.
